Tropical Ash

The Fraxinus uhdei, commonly known as Tropical Ash, Shamel Ash, or Mexican Ash, is a fast-growing evergreen to semi-evergreen tree valued for its broad canopy, attractive foliage, and excellent shade. It is commonly used in streetscapes, compounds, parks, and larger landscaped areas.

• Appearance: Features a tall trunk with a broad, rounded crown and compound green leaves made up of several narrow leaflets. Mature trees develop a strong, spreading form that provides generous shade.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Best suited as an outdoor landscape tree with enough space for its mature canopy and root system.
• Care: Prefers full sun, well-draining soil, and regular watering while young. Once established, it becomes relatively hardy and can tolerate short dry periods.
• Benefits: Fast-growing, excellent for shade, attractive year-round foliage, and useful for creating structure and cooling larger outdoor spaces.
