Thyme

The Thymus vulgaris, commonly known as Thyme or Common Thyme, is a compact evergreen herb valued for its strongly aromatic leaves, culinary uses, and small attractive flowers. It is widely grown in herb gardens, containers, borders, and edible landscapes.

• Appearance: Forms a low, bushy plant with small grey-green aromatic leaves and tiny pink, lilac, or white flowers.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Best suited as an outdoor herb and landscape plant, though it can also be grown in sunny containers.
• Care: Prefers full sun, well-draining soil, and light to moderate watering. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings and avoid waterlogging.
• Benefits: Produces edible aromatic leaves used in cooking, attracts bees and other pollinators, is drought-tolerant once established, and works well in herb gardens and borders.
