Peanut Cactus

The Peanut Cactus (Echinopsis chamaecereus, formerly Chamaecereus silvestrii) is a compact, low-growing cactus known for its soft, finger-like stems and bright, showy flowers. Its spreading habit makes it especially attractive in pots, rock gardens, and mixed succulent displays.

• Appearance: Produces clusters of short, cylindrical green stems that resemble peanuts or small fingers. In the flowering season, it develops large, vivid orange to red blooms that contrast beautifully with the green stems.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Suitable for both indoor and outdoor growing in bright, warm conditions. It works well in containers, balconies, patios, rock gardens, and succulent arrangements.
• Care: Prefers bright light to full sun, very well-draining soil, and light watering. Allow the soil to dry between waterings and avoid waterlogging.
• Benefits: Compact, low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, easy to grow, and valued for its colourful flowers and attractive spreading form.
