Japanese Red Cedar

The Japanese Red Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), also known as Japanese Cedar or Sugi, is an elegant evergreen conifer valued for its soft foliage, upright form, and strong architectural presence. It is widely used in landscaping as a feature tree, screen, boundary plant, or structured evergreen planting.

• Appearance: Features soft, fine, needle-like foliage arranged densely along the branches. The foliage is usually rich green and may take on bronze or reddish tones in cooler conditions, while the tree develops a tall, conical shape as it matures.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Best suited as an outdoor landscape plant. It works well as a specimen tree, privacy screen, boundary planting, avenue tree, or as part of formal and natural garden designs.
• Care: Prefers full sun to partial shade, fertile well-draining soil, and regular watering while establishing. It performs best where the soil remains moderately moist but not waterlogged.
