Heavenly Bamboo

The Nandina domestica, commonly known as Heavenly Bamboo or Sacred Bamboo, is an evergreen to semi-evergreen ornamental shrub valued for its colourful foliage, neat upright growth, and decorative berries. Despite its name, it is not a true bamboo.

• Appearance: Features fine, bamboo-like compound leaves that may change from green to red, bronze, or purple depending on the season and growing conditions. It also produces small white flowers followed by bright red berries.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Best suited as an outdoor landscape plant for borders, hedges, entrances, containers, and decorative garden planting.
• Care: Prefers full sun to partial shade, well-draining soil, and moderate watering. It responds well to light pruning and is relatively easy to maintain once established.
• Benefits: Evergreen or semi-evergreen, colourful throughout the year, compact, and excellent for adding texture, contrast, and structure to landscaped spaces.
