Cape Myrtle

The Lagerstroemia spp., commonly known as Crape Myrtle or Crepe Myrtle, is a flowering shrub or small tree valued for its colourful flower clusters, attractive bark, and neat ornamental form. It is widely used in gardens, compounds, roadsides, and landscaped spaces.

• Appearance: Features smooth green leaves and large clusters of crinkled flowers in shades of pink, purple, red, white, or lavender. Mature plants often develop attractive peeling bark.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Best suited as an outdoor flowering plant for gardens, borders, avenues, compounds, and feature planting.
• Care: Prefers full sun, well-draining soil, and regular watering while establishing. Pruning helps maintain shape and encourages healthy flowering.
