Bougainvillea

The Bougainvillea is a vibrant tropical ornamental plant known for its colourful papery bracts, vigorous growth, and ability to create striking displays on walls, fences, gates, and garden structures. It is especially popular in warm climates because of its long flowering season and strong tolerance of heat and dry conditions.

• Appearance: Produces dense green foliage with clusters of brightly coloured papery bracts in shades of pink, purple, red, orange, white, or magenta surrounding small true flowers.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Best suited as an outdoor landscape plant. It can be trained as a climbing plant, hedge, shrub, or feature plant and works well along fences, pergolas, walls, entrances, and large containers.
• Care: Prefers full sun, well-draining soil, and moderate watering. It flowers best with plenty of sunlight and should be allowed to dry slightly between waterings. Regular pruning helps control its shape and encourages healthy growth.
• Benefits: Highly decorative, drought-tolerant once established, fast-growing, and excellent for adding strong colour, privacy, and vertical interest to landscaped spaces.
