Barbados Nut

The Jatropha curcas, commonly known as Barbados Nut, Physic Nut, or Purging Nut, is a hardy tropical shrub or small tree known for its broad green leaves and distinctive seed capsules. It is often grown in warm climates as a hedge, boundary plant, or ornamental landscape shrub.

• Appearance: Features large, lobed green leaves on sturdy branching stems, with small greenish-yellow flowers followed by oval seed capsules that mature from green to yellow or brown.
• Indoor/Outdoor Use: Best suited as an outdoor landscape plant for hedges, boundaries, screening, and larger garden areas.
• Care: Prefers full sun, well-draining soil, and moderate watering while establishing. Once mature, it becomes relatively drought-tolerant.
